23 April 2009 Ferrara Fire Apparatus Launches Two New Products At FDIC
"Our other new truck is even more exciting, the MVP. The MVP is designed to meet the niche in the fire service that wants crosslays low to the chassis frame, oversized compartments, short wheelbase and pump and roll capability." Ferrara chose the Hale QMAX pump for the new MVP. "Our research showed the fire departments who wanted this type of truck also wanted improved performance from their midship pump," Ferrara added. "We easily achieved a 2250 GPM flow with the MVP." Additionally, pump and roll is achieved with a Hale PTO pump, which will flow 200 GPM at 150 PSI at zero miles per hour or 80-90 GPM at 150 PSI at 2.5 miles per hour. The MVP has huge compartments, over 420 cubic feet of storage with only a 183" wheelbase. The hose bed is generously sized and carries 1000' of 5" LDH and 400' of 3" double jacket, with room to spare. Ferrara concluded, "Of course, because we build the MVP, you can customize it if you want. If you want a larger tank, more compartment space, or another cab configuration, talk to us. We'll design the truck around your needs."
Ferrara also builds a line of specialty law enforcement vehicles including bomb squads, mobile crime scene labs, SWAT trucks, mobile drug interdiction labs and command vehicles.
