Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. Announces Eleven Apparatus Contract with Houston, Texas

Holden, LA - Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. proudly announces the delivery of eleven pumpers for the City of Houston, Texas Fire Department, President/CEO Chris Ferrara announced today.

"We are very proud to have been awarded this contract and are doing everything in our power to provide the level of service and support the Houston Fire Department deserves," Mr. Ferrara said. "As a company, we began this project with the goal to deliver eleven apparatus, built to the exacting specification of the Houston Fire Department in an incredibly short period of time and we have achieved our goal." Purchasing Manager Thomas H. Nunnery of the City of Houston Fire Department stated in a letter to Mr. Ferrara, "There has never been, to our knowledge, any supplier that has produced products of this magnitude and complexity in virtually a two-month window, while maintaining the finish product and manufacturing specifications all at the same time."

In addition, Mr. Nunnery furthermore stated in his letter that he and District Chief Thomas J. Slagle have been involved in the "manufacturing, purchasing, quality control, fire departments and dealing with fire apparatus for more than twenty years. Having said that, we would rate your manufacturing facility and capability amounting the very few that merits an excellent rating." Each rescue pumper has an ISL 400 engine, a Hale QMax 1500 single stage water pump, and a 500 gallon water tank. The fire bodies are constructed of heavy duty extruded marine grade aluminum, and are the strongest fire bodies in the industry.
