Houston Fire Department Adds 10 More Ferrara Pumpers

Holden, LA – Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc., America’s premier custom fire apparatus manufacturer, has been awarded a contract by the City of Houston for ten (10) new custom pumper apparatus.  The trucks will be built on Ferrara Igniter custom chassis, each equipped with a 3/16” thick, marine grade aluminum cab and body.  Ferrara fire trucks have been in service to the City of Houston since 2005.  When these new apparatus are delivered, there will be nearly 70 Ferrara vehicles in their fleet.

This news comes on the heels of Ferrara’s announcement earlier this month of their receipt of a substantial contract from New York City.

Company President and CEO Chris Ferrara thanked the City of Houston for their latest order.  “We work hard every day to earn the business of great cities like Houston.  The employees of Ferrara take pride in knowing the trucks they build protect so many residents of this and other cities and towns across America.”

Houston Fire Department, America’s fourth largest department with 88 engine companies and 92 fire stations, is responsible for preserving the lives and property of over 2 million city residents, as well as its large industrial base.

Ferrara Fire Apparatus manufacturers a full line of fire and emergency vehicles, including the Inferno, Igniter, Ember and Intruder 2 custom chassis, pumpers and tankers, rear and mid-mount aerial ladders and platforms, rescue and incident command vehicles, Inundator foam pumpers, airport vehicles and the Strong Arm fire rescue vehicle.  Ferrara is a leading safety innovator in the industry, offering such items as On-Site Tilt Table Testing, Crash Tested Cabs and Bodies, Complete Airbag Protection, and SmartWheel steering systems.
