Ferrara Wins Innovator
of the Year Governor's Technology Award
HOLDEN, LA - Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. won the 2005 Innovator of the Year Governor's Technology Award from the Louisiana Office of Economic Development, in sponsorship with the Louisiana Technical Guide produced by the Baton Rouge Business Report. This award spotlights individuals, businesses, institutions and non-profit organizations that have developed innovative technology products and services, or use technology to positively advance their organization or community.
As a company, Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. has concentrated their efforts on the development of products focused on firefighter safety and efficiency. Chris Ferrara, President/CEO of Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. said at a recent meeting, "Receiving this award is one of the greatest satisfactions of my career. From my earliest days as a volunteer firefighter, my focus as an individual and as the head of the most innovative fire truck manufacturing company has been to enhance the safety and effectiveness of fire fighters in their daily activities." Mr. Ferrara further explained that the development of fire fighting apparatus technology must continue to evolve in ways that increase the capabilities of fire fighters on the fire ground as well as ensuring their ability to safely accomplish of their mission.
